The preparation of these products begins by carrying out a control and careful selection of the pork meat. The later mincing provides the base to obtain either variety.
In a second phase, we personalise the product by “marinating” the meats with natural ingredients. León da Gusto sells two types of sausage from León: Chorizo de León and Salchichón de León.
Depending on which of these is being prepared, we meticulously select the spices which will be included in the marinade, and which will provide the sausage with the particular flavour and aroma which distinguishes it. The paprikas in the Chorizo and the unground pepper for the Salchichón are the ingredients which differentiate the two products.
In a later stage, both varieties are stuffed into natural pork intestine. Finally, they are placed in our drying sheds, where they acquire all their characteristic aroma and flavour.
Chorizo de León can be sold in two varieties: sweet (white string) and spicy (red string). Salchichón de León is tied with a green string.

Both varieties are designed to be consumed raw, freshly cut. The eyecatching appearance of these chorizos, together with their exquisite aroma and flavour, make them the main element of any platter of cold meats. They are an essential component of tapas, appetisers or any kind of sandwich.
